4 CBD Recipes to Change Your Life

Taking CBD as a supplement for your health doesn’t have to be the dull daily drops under the tongue or liquid-gels that you take with your vitamins each morning. In fact, getting your CBD can become a challenge to see how many fun ways you can come up with on your own. There are additional ways of absorbing CBD into your system, such as vaping, but it has proven that it stays in your body and works for longer when it is ingested. This is likely due to the absorption rate into your body. When it is eaten and must go through the journey of digestion, CBD takes longer to enter the blood stream and get to the cells where it is needed. This slows the rate of absorption into the body and the time of burn-off. When something hits your system more immediately, like vaping, then it is used immediately also.

Adding something to your diet is often far more enjoyable when it is done by adding it into foods or beverages from which you can take some measure of enjoyment. CBD recipes exist for everything from cocktails, to delicious desserts. Let’s explore some ways that you can enjoy taking your CBD and we’ll even get you started with four fabulous recipes to start enjoying your CBD this week.

CBD can be paired with other oils. There are brands of olive oil that have been infused with CBD oil. This pairing works very well in some recipes and it is up to you if you like the flavor that the addition of CBD adds to these recipes. Experiment and have fun using this oil in recipes that you’ve always traditionally used olive oil in and see if you like the way it makes you feel.

PurCBD+ Full Spectrum PhytoCannaBinoiD Oil

CBD is already available in candies, such as gummies, that can be purchased, but there’s no reason that you can’t learn to add it to your own recipes. Try adding CBD oil to your melted chocolate and almond bark at the holidays. Dip pretzels and peanuts into this CBD/chocolate combo for a very peaceful holiday season. If the little ones grab some accidentally, you can just tuck them into bed and let them sleep it off. This probably has parents everywhere lifting an eyebrow with the thoughts for projects on Christmas Eve, to get the little ones into bed sooner. CBD is a great sleep aid, after all.

Making a cake? Adding CBD to the frosting or the cake batter is a fine way to add it to your diet. Making mints for the holidays? Adding a few drops of CBD oil right before you add your mint mixture into the molds will create a naturally calming treat. Cake-pops with CBD oil added are marketed by a couple of companies on the internet, but you can also add it to your own, or to brownies, cookies, pudding, ice cream, pumpkin pie, dressing, …. Are you getting the pattern? Feed the kids some CBD, or the in-laws, and pour yourself a CBD infused drink to cap-ff your day.

CBD can be added to almost any recipe and virtually anyone can take CBD without any fears or concerns. One of the few groups of people who shouldn’t use CBD oil is anyone on a blood thinner. CBD can cause problems because it has anticoagulant properties that could interact poorly with blood thinners.

These cookies are delicious, and they look beautiful too. Yield for this recipe is approximately 2 dozen cookies, depending on the size you make them. Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies and you can enjoy them at any time of the year. They are always popular. This sort of recipe makes it easy for parents to get children to take their CBD when it is for a chronic condition, or simply for the child with ADHD who doesn’t sleep very well. This recipe is available widely on the internet.

For help in understanding dose per cookie, here is a guideline:

Based on the milligrams you add to the recipe divide by number of cookies you make.

Total milligrams added to recipe, divided by a dozen (12) – mg per cookie

So, for example:
750mg/12 = 62.50 mg per cookie

Two - Anti-Inflammatory Drinks to Help with Arthritis Pain

This recipe is a variation of the age-old recipe for “golden milk” with turmeric in it. Turmeric has been used as a natural anti-inflammatory since medieval times and many people also cook with it for the properties that is has shown. Even scientists agree that turmeric has amazing pain relief value. Taken as a daily supplement, it has shown incredible ability to reduce the pain associated with arthritis and other chronic conditions. Nothing could be better than to combine the amazing benefits of turmeric and CBD and rewrite this age-old recipe for modern day use. It is always important to add some black pepper to recipes in which you are using turmeric, as the pepper helps the body use the turmeric with more effectiveness. Strangely, it seems to have the same result when used with CBD oil, so add your pepper to your recipes and don’t forget it in this one either!

GOLDEN CBD MILK

  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 2 teaspoons of raw organic honey (local to you is always best)
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder or one inch of raw root to grate
  • 1 inch of ginger root
  • 1 cup of almond milk (vanilla almond milk is better if you want a sweetness to your milk)
  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
  • A pinch of both salt and pepper
  • 1 or 2 drops of CBD tincture

Warm the milk in a saucepan on low. Add all the ingredients into the saucepan and allow them to heat slowly until they are simply warm. You do not want to boil your mixture. When everything is nice and warm, pour it into a blender and pulse until smooth. If there are any tiny bits you can pour through a metal strainer into a cup. Enjoy this tasty drink on a cold winter day. It will help ward of colds and those aches and pains brought-on by a very cold winter day. Nothing beats a good glass of golden milk before bedtime to beat the winter blues.

For an additional variation, try pouring over a chai tea bag. It will give you some antioxidant boost and an interesting taste for those who like a little spicy variation.

This drink is known for settling upset stomachs or assisting with gastrointestinal issues, such as Crohn’s disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It’s a wonderful drink with many health benefits and it is sure to become one of your favorites, no matter how you choose to enjoy it. Children will really enjoy this drink if made with vanilla almond milk. It has a sweet flavor and the honey in it is fantastic to help with sore throats and cold symptoms that are so common in school-aged children during the winter months. Sore throat and congestion are eased from the combination of pepper, turmeric, honey, and ginger. The CBD added will help bring restful sleep so important to getting well. This is a better solution than most cough syrups on the market today, especially when you are trying to live more naturally.

Three - Blueberry Yogurt Parfait with CBD Infused Honey

This recipe is crazy good! CBD infused honey?? Just imagine all the possibilities of CBD infused honey over biscuits, in your tea, on top of pancakes…. Let’s take a gander at this quick and easy recipe that could be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dessert. Firstly, you can trade the blueberries for any other fruit that you prefer and change it up with the seasons, as you like. This recipe makes a single serving, so plan accordingly for company, they are going to want some of this.

Parfaits are quick and easy. Here are your ingredients:

  • 6 oz of fresh berries or fruit of choice
  • 2/3 cup of Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup of granola
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • Dash salt
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • ¾ teaspoon of hemp seed oil or half dropper of CBD oil

Use a double boiler and blend the CBD or Hemp oil with the honey, then set that aside. In another bowl, mix your Greek yogurt with the cinnamon and salt. Begin by adding half of this yogurt mix to the bottom of your parfait glass. On top of this layer of yogurt, spread a layer of the granola. Top the granola with a layer of fruit and drizzle your fruit with the CBD infused honey. Repeat until your cup is full of healthy goodness. Serve while still cold. Your layers should appear as – yogurt, granola, berries, honey, yogurt, granola, berries, honey, etc.

This is a handy dessert whenever you feel like you’d enjoy it. Making your honey ahead of time and keeping it on hand to add to anything else you can possibly imagine (we think you’ll be adding honey to everything now). This is a delicious and simple way to enjoy your CBD oil, to get a family member to enjoy their CBD oil, and even to give it to a pet. Honey is safe for everyone and it has great health benefits in and of itself. Dogs love honey and dogs can greatly benefit from the CBD if they have health issues or anxiety problems, something that does plague many pets. CBD helps them calm down and be less reactive to everything in their environments. If you have a family pet that suffers from aggression or anxiety, you may wish to give this a shot and see if their behavior isn’t curbed with CBD use.

Four - Additional Information on Using CBD in Your Own Recipes

In general, adding CBD tinctures and oil to anything that is somewhat liquid or soft is simple and easy. Start there if this is completely new to you. Puddings, sauces, condiments, salad dressings and more are relatively easy places to start adding your CBD and getting it in your system. If you take CBD as a supplement and would like to add more to your diet to help with pain, chronic condition or anxiety, then adding some to your food is a great way to begin getting additional benefits.

CBD infused coffees and teas, as well as tinctures that can be added to cocktails are all ways that you can consume more CBD each day without even realizing that you are consuming it. There are products on the market that are already infused with CBD but if you’d like to branch-out and try your own things, the sky is pretty much the limit. You can try adding the oil here and there, as you see fit. There’s no harm in CBD products. Side-effects of too much CBD at once are diarrhea and headache, possible stomach cramps. If you feel these effects, just cut back on your use of CBD until these subside and then gradually reintroduce CBD and taper up on your doses more slowly.

If you are a parent that is fighting with a child with ADHD or autism, who simply will not go to sleep at a decent hour and is smart enough to know that drops of CBD make them sleepy, then you must get creative. Sometimes, adding CBD products to their food or desserts is the best way to get sneaky and make sure that they are getting the dosage that is necessary to a calmer life around the house.

Remember, you aren’t doing anything harmful if you are trying to help your child sleep. Sleep is extremely important to healthy body and mind. A child that isn’t getting enough sleep is going to start having behavioral issues at school. Creating a quick parfait or ice cream right before bedtime isn’t a bad way to help everyone calm down and get restful sleep each night, if that’s what it takes.

Tinctures, Oils, Syrups, and What You Should Get

Oils can be added to most anything and generally aren’t flavored. Tinctures can be flavored and tend to be thicker in consistency. Many people prefer to use the tinctures for cooking applications. Truthfully, you may wish to experiment with both and see which you prefer. You may like the flavored syrups. You might find that you like something thicker in honey or something that is easier to blend in, like the oil, depending on the recipe you are creating.

Recipes exist by the hundreds and thousands online. Join a CBD message board for recipe exchange. Read blogs that are posted by people who are doing the cooking and experimenting for you, saving you time, trouble, and money. Don’t be afraid to try new things. You might discover that you really like the way CBD enhances the flavor of some of your favorite foods and drinks. Use it in smoothies or even in an alcoholic beverage to create a flavor that is different from anything you’ve had before.

CBD products are available in all fifty states, with few exceptions in local municipalities due to their own restrictions. Online stores are plentiful, and some will even have blogs at their sites in order to help you understand what products are best for which application. You’ll learn as you grow, if you’re open to it. More information is becoming available daily as this industry expands to meet the demand.

CBD is legal, you can’t get high from using it, but you might get high from how pain-free you feel. CBD has a lot of potential for saving lives and changing lives. Don’t just exist, live. CBD might be your first steps toward really living since the days when you took your first steps as a toddler. Cooking with CBD is simply another doorway that has opened in your life. You can eat and enjoy your favorite snacks and indulge, while taking your supplement of CBD that keeps you feeling great. It’s almost too easy, but it’s true.

  • This is a wonderful, informative post! I have often been questioned about whether hemp products I use such as hemp seed oil and hemp milk are safe and how they relate to the marijuana plant. I never knew the answer to these questions except to say that they are a different part of the plant that doesn’t contain THC. Now I truly understand the difference! Thank you
